Charity Auctions
The annual Charity Auction of Contemporary Art is the Cosmoscow Foundation’s primary fundraising event.
Leading private philanthropists and patrons are invited to the auction, and the proceeds are distributed among the participating artists and the Cosmoscow Foundation to support the expansion of its non-profit activities, the creation of new artworks, acquisitions for Russian museum collections, and the organization of educational programs.
2025. Several Reasons to Trust Yourself
On April 10, 2025, the 12th Cosmoscow Foundation Charity Auction took place at the Solodovnya Center for Contemporary Culture, with the support of partners MR Private, BORK, Beluga, and edis. Collectors and patrons united in their desire to support contemporary Russian artists and contribute to the development of the arts. Ivan Urgant hosted the event. Revenue amounted to 17.3 million rubles.

Ksenia Chilingarova, a Russian publicist, publisher, poet, and collector, curated the selection of lots in collaboration with the Cosmoscow Foundation’s Expert Committee. The concept of the 12th Cosmoscow auction centered on a new general theory of perception, which contrasts mechanical information processing, the manipulation of facts, and ready-made value judgments. The theme of the project was intended to emphasize the importance of personal emotional experience evoked by the reality of things, their materiality or corporeality, their literal presence.

The auction generated over 17.3 million rubles in sales. Proceeds were be donated to the Cosmoscow Foundation for the creation of new artworks, the development of Russian museum collections, educational programs, and the expansion of its non-profit activities.

2024. Vertigo
On May 14, the 11th Cosmoscow Foundation Charity Auction took place in Moscow with the support of Sber Private Banking, STONE, BORK, Hadassah Medical Moscow, and the Beluga brand. The auction took place in the Noôdome club space, an inspiring environment for the emergence and development of social projects, primarily in the areas of philanthropy and cultural preservation. Collectors and patrons were united by a desire to support contemporary Russian artists and contribute to the development of the arts. Revenue amounted to over 15.5 million rubles.

The theme of the auction, curated by Alexey Maslyaev, was Vertigo. In keeping with this theme, the curator and artists focused on the sense of instability and loss of balance that everyone can experience amidst the current events in the world around us.

2023. Journey
On April 25, the 10th Charity Auction of the Cosmoscow Foundation for Contemporary Art took place at the Marco Polo Hotel with the support of MR Group, BORK, and Simple Group. The event took place in an intimate setting within the cozy Jane by Deep Fried Friends restaurant, where patrons, philanthropists, and collectors united in an atmosphere of friendship and creativity, sharing their charitable mission of supporting contemporary art and young talented artists in the context of challenging times. The theme of the 2023 auction and exhibition was Journey, which refers not to transcending space, but to the boundaries of one’s own consciousness. This theme explored travel primarily as a process of self-discovery, an integral part of contemporary art, helping us rediscover the world around us and rethink our place in it in the context of modernity.

The auction generated over 5,000,000 rubles in sales. Proceeds were distributed among the participating artists, as well as the Cosmoscow Foundation, to expand non-profit activities, create new artworks, purchase items for Russian museum collections, and organize educational programs.

2022
On June 5, 2022, with the support of the Lunar project from Hutton Development, a long-term partner of Cosmoscow, the Otkrytie Private Banking and Ultima Yandex Go, the 9th Charity Auction of the Cosmoscow Foundation was held, which for the first time was held away from the bustle of the city — in the Peredelkino, inviting patrons, philanthropists and collectors to spend a summer evening in the warm, family atmosphere of the town of writers — a place of inspiration, co-creation and friendship.

Auction sales totaled more than € 75,000. Proceeds will be distributed among the participating artists, the Cosmoscow Foundation (to create new artworks, purchases for Russian museum collections, and organize educational programs), as well as the New Urban Artists studio, which supports artists with a special mentality.

2021. Phantasma
On April 12th, 2021, the Cosmonautics Day, the 8th Cosmoscow Foundation Charity Auction was held. It was supported by the jewelry company Mercury, Otkritie Private Banking, Ruinart Champagne House and strategic partner v confession agency. The chosen venue was Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, which was also declared the Cosmoscow 2021 Museum of the Year. Actor, TV presenter and musician Ivan Urgant acted as the auctioneer.
As the result of the auction, all 22 lots were sold for 201,500 €. The proceeds from the sales will traditionally be used to implement Cosmoscow Foundation for Contemporary Art programs — creating projects and educational programs in the cultural field, as well as replenishing museum collections.

The curator of the auction and pre-auction exhibition was Simon Rees, Art Director of Cosmoscow, who announced the theme — "PHANTASMA". The selected lots were dedicated to astrology and cosmology, new worlds and the 60th anniversary of the first manned flight into space. The works for the auction were provided by both Russian and foreign artists.
The most expensive lot of the auction was Rostislav Lebedev’s "Russian Space", sold for € 25,000. The work of Cosmoscow 2021 Artist of the Year Irina Korina — was sold for € 20,000. Other favorites of the charity auction were the works of Aidan Salakhova, Georgy Ostretsov, Alexey Azarov, Alexey Bogolepov and Anna Andrzhievskaya.

The central theme of the charity evening was retrofuturism — with its dreams of unknown worlds and the conquest of space. The guests experienced an intergalactic journey, the beginning of which was marked by the song "Tenderness" performed by Maya Kristalinskaya, which Yuri Gagarin and other Soviet cosmonauts loved to listen to. Guests learned about the Cosmoscow Foundation’s programs from an animated film stylized as a space odyssey (author: Maria Agateeva).

Theatrical performance "Phantasma", which immersed the guests in the atmosphere of a spaceship, was prepared by the Creative Association 9. The musical accompaniment was performed by Dmitry Ustinov and Peter Theremin, the great-grandson of the legendary inventor Lev Theremin, the creator of theremin.

2020: FICTION & FORECAST NEW GENERATIVE AESTHETICS & WORLDMAKING
The 7th Cosmoscow Foundation charity auction was held as part of the Cosmoscow 2020 fair in partnership with the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation, supported by the Ruinart champagne house and strategic partner v confession agency. Most of the proceeds amounting to € 113,900 will benefit the Cosmoscow Foundation. Proceeds from the sale of the work by artist Ramin Nafikov (participant of the 2nd Garage Triennial will benefit the Endowment Fund of the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Cosmoscow 2020 Museum of the Year. The evening was hosted by Olga Shelest and Fyodor Pavlov-Andreevich. The Off white charity auction took place in the ART SPEED DATING format: three times a night, guests were one on one at the table with a new partner without breaking social distance.
